One Way Out of a Soul-Sucking Decade: A Tale of Passion and Purpose

Updated: Oct 16, 2024

Hey! I’m Jess. And if you ever hear someone call me “Jessica,” you know things are serious—because that name still makes me feel like I'm in trouble, even at 41.

Being a Gemini means I thrive in chaos and creativity. For 10 years, I was caught in a relentless cycle, working two jobs just to make ends meet. It felt like living in a perpetual episode of “Groundhog Day.” Then, everything shifted when I got fired from a job I actually enjoyed. That’s how I ended up at my favorite thinking spot: the graves of the Allman Brothers at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, GA. It was there that I met a the stranger behind the roses.

With a lot of support from my partner, Kendall, I'm embracing this new phase of life. I may be without a job, but I’m excited to explore what’s next and share my story about how I came to meet the stranger.

My life has been filled with WTF moments that were precluded with impulsive decisions, and some undeniable cosmic signs. I believe every person comes into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Every encounter and unexpected twist has brought me to this blog, where I'll be sharing everything—the good, the bad, and the downright absurd.

Here, you can expect stories about the events that rerouted me back finding my purpose, the people who have shaped my journey, and the lifelong friends I’ve made along the way. I might change a few names, not to protect the innocent, but to keep some of these folks from cashing in on MY story—yep, I’m that petty, honest, and transparent.

I hope my journey brings you a smile, makes you think, and maybe even inspires you to find your own path.

Thanks for being here for this adventure. Stay tuned for more stories, reflections, and a whole lot of unexpected moments!
